About Me

Hi, my name is Isabel Silverman. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am an 18-year-old freshman at The Ohio State University, to pursue a B.F.A. degree in Dance.

I have been dancing since the early age of 2 years old, as it has been my passion for as long as I can remember; it is my emotional release translated into movement. I genuinely do not know who I would be without dance in my life. It is not just an activity to me; it is my catharsis and motivation. Dance has taught me about dedication, patience, perseverance, purpose, trust, loyalty, success, and failure. It has also shown me the importance of being able to work both as a teammate and solo. These lessons have trickled down to how I manage my friendships, relationships with those from my past, and my schoolwork.

I was a competitive dancer, and was granted a significant amount of awards for my solos, duets, trios, and group pieces, from a variety of competitions, located in the Northeastern part of the United States. As I have always been eager to enhance my knowledge in the arts, I have attended several dance conventions, with the studio I have trained with, LibertyMe Dance Center. In addition, I had the opportunity to self choreograph a solo, and perform it for the very first time, then, had the opportunity to perform it at three Koresh Artist Showcases at Koresh Dance Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

During the time I began to create my own form of work, I had sparked a realization that along side my strong passion for dance, I have a true love of creating and sharing my artwork with others. As well as my performance career path, I have always touched an interest in the business administrative side of the dance industry. Whether it would be opening a dance studio, or running a dance company, it is one of my many interests within the dance world. Dancing at Koresh Dance Company, alongside company members, such as, Melissa Rector and Roni Koresh, have encouraged me to pursue my dreams of expanding my artistry and creativity. As I continue my educational and dance path at The Ohio State University, I hope to enhance my goals of being a well-rounded performer, choreographer, and business administrator.
